H.E Governor James Ongwae and his deputy Joash Maangi led leaders and Kisii County residents in a prayer meeting while receiving bodies of Kisii County residents who died during the Mandera Bus attack. The bodies were received at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) grounds this evening.

Speaking at the gathering, various leaders expressed concern over the state of insecurity in the country. They called on the national government to prioritize on matters of security and ensure that all civil servants working in North Eastern and other areas prone to insecurity are protected.

Addressing mourners, representatives from the medical and teaching fraternity called on the government to deploy civil servants working in insecure counties to safer regions until the security issue is addressed.
