The First Lady yesterday addressed the Kisii County Consultative Forum on HIV/AIDS at Mash Park Hotel. The Forum brought on board various stakeholders and partners who are working together with the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The Forum whose theme was “Our County, Our Response’’ sought to take stock of the County’s measures in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The First Lady Mrs Elizabeth Ongwae expressed her commitment and that of the County Government to partner with the Community and other organizations to offer counseling services to students affected in 252 Primary Schools and 50 Secondary Schools and other vulnerable groups spread across the County and to address the stigmatization of the infected. This is part of a bigger campaign launched in April by First Ladies from all the Counties dubbed ‘Beyond Zero' Campaign that seeks to reduce new infections.
